Environmental sustainability is central to CGO Ecology's business ethic and our Environmental and Social Responsibility Policy outlines the steps we take to ensure our practices are sustainable. One of these steps is to calculate our annual carbon footprint and to offset it through appropriate projects.
Carbon Footprint Ltd provide carbon footprint calculations for businesses and households, advice for reducing energy usage, and carbon offset projects which support communities in developing countries, as well as reducing carbon emissions.
These projects are located across the globe: in Africa, Asia and South America, and range from reforestation programmes, through renewable energy projects, to provision of efficient household cook stoves. In Kenya, their reforestation programme has planted over 115,000 trees, with birds and other wildlife now moving in. This UN-endorsed project is also supporting local communities, increasing water and food security as well as employment prospects.
Carbon Footprint Ltd also has a project right here in the UK, planting trees with schools, inspiring and educating future generations. This programme has planted over 315,000 trees to date, in locations from Scotland down to Kent!
