New contracts in railways, schools, and renewables

CGO Ecology has just been instructed by IKM Consulting Ltd to perform a reptile survey on the 50km route of the former Waverley Line railway from Edinburgh to Tweedbank. This major project, led by BAM Nuttall Ltd working for Railtrack, will see the long-awaited re-opening of this iconic route. Served by Edinburgh Waverley station, and eventually running to Carlisle, the Waverley Line was closed in the Beeching Axe of the late 1960s.

Nearer to our Bournemouth base, we have just been awarded a contract with Wates Construction Ltd to supply an SNCI management plan, mitigation strategy and conservation advice relating to an academy school project on the Isle of Portland, Dorset.

Also in Dorset, CGO Ecology has just completed an Extended Phase 1 Habitat survey for Emotion Energy Ltd, for a proposed ten-hectare solar energy farm near Lytchett Matravers, Dorset.

We also have a feature article in the latest 'In Practice' magazine published by IEEM, entitled 'A Radical Plan to Help the Natterjack?'
