Richard has over 20 years of arboricultural consultancy and management experience, mostly for utility companies in hazardous conditions such as high-voltage overhead lines, motorways, railways and rivers. He is certificated to work beside power lines, to perform arboricultural health and safety surveys, tree inspections, mortgage reports, and arboricultural surveys for development (BS5837:2012). He is a Technician member of the Arboriculture Association. He also has a Class 2 bat licence, with training and experience in advanced survey and handling techniques. He is an active member of local bat groups including Nottinghamshire. He has handled 14 native bat species, with experience of all four Annex 2 species. Richard specialises in surveying trees for bats, combining his arb expertise with aerial (rope-access) training in PRF inspection with endoscope.
