Chris is a respected ornithologist, arachnologist and all-round ecologist, based in Scotland. He has led survey and mitigation for large windfarms, solar parks, power lines, rail, road, housing and minerals projects. Areas of particular expertise include Ecological Impact Assessment, Appropriate Assessment of Natura sites, Collision Risk Modelling (CRM), and ArcGIS data analysis. He has specialist skills in Schedule 1 and Annex I bird species, protected mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates (including butterflies, dragonflies, beetles, spiders, harvestmen, pseudoscorpions, woodlice, millipedes and centipedes). He produces bespoke plans for challenging ecological issues, Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs), and ECoW services. He is on numerous committees and steering groups, and a visiting lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland and Glasgow Caledonian University. He holds first aid, CSCS and offroad qualifications.
